Planting a seed is one thing and there is still quite a way towards harvesting. This is also how the Learnstorytelling consortium sees the time and common efforts towards the storytelling for helping professions becoming a recognized educational programme. We have planted the seeds, carefully watered our delicate flowers/results and created many beautiful stories of cooperation with educational and social sector institutions. ‘Blaming and shaming’ stories are still dominating societies and cause (social) exclusion. The consequences are harsh for many. If we can facilitate cultural and contextual sensitivity, we can create mutual respect. Exchanging (personal and culture) stories is one of the possibilities. Telling and listening are equally important. ‘Listening’ is more than’ hearing’, it is expressing empathy and respect for the teller’s story and his feelings. Asking the right questions to stories helps teller and listener to investigate and analyze them.
